February 8: Calmer Body; Calmer Mind: Relaxation Strategies
Denise Stillman, PhD, behavioral psychologist, will discuss your bodies’ response to stress and teach relaxation exercises to calm your body and mind.
April 12: Caring for the Caregiver
Cancer is a family affair. It affects the person with cancer and the many people who love them. CSC’s Denise Stillman, PhD, will offer tips on how support people can take care of themselves while caring for someone else.
June 14: Drumming for Fun
Music can energize and calm your soul at the same time, regardless of your musical skill. CSC’s music expert and family therapist, Kathleen Williams, LCSW, will host a family-friendly evening of drumming and music making. Drums and other musical tools provided.
August 9: How Am I Supposed to Feel?
Emotional distress with cancer is common. Debra Sullivan, PhD, clinical psychologist at CSC, talks about the signs of depression and anxiety; and how your thoughts and actions can help or hurt you. This program focuses on making more experiences good and making less experiences bad.
October 11: Thoughts Getting You Down?
Are your thoughts keeping you up at night or making hard times even worse? CSC’s Denise Stillman, PhD, will talk about the power of your thoughts and how you can use them to help you.
December 13: Cancer-fighting Superfoods for Super Holidays
Join nutritionist, Susan Smith, RD, as she talks about cancer-fighting Superfoods. She’ll help you figure out if food information is true or false. Enjoy this relaxing holiday evening with a tasty sampling dinner.
