Our CSC Calendar – How Aware Are You?

Jan 19, 2017 | Posted by Ashley Siferd | Programs and Offerings |

Do you think you know our calendar at just a glance? Look again! Look closely! Maybe something has changed.
One of the gifts – and the challenges — of our human experience is that we tend to see what is familiar to us and often ignore what is not familiar or what we perceive as irrelevant. In doing so, we can miss important and enriching details. And that is unfortunate.
Are you curious about your own awareness skills? Do you have one minute (literally) to spare? If you answered “yes” to either question, take this video-based Awareness Test. It’s quick and fun and can be very revealing:

As you can see from this Awareness Test, we can miss some information when we are focused elsewhere. You might miss something important or new, or you might miss something fun!
How is this relevant to our monthly calendar at CSC? Our calendar maintains the same format month after month – in part because we know that providing familiarity and predictability is one of the ways that CSC helps reduce the stress of cancer, and in part because we know that our format works. But within that consistent format are very exciting programs and an ever-changing menu of stress-reduction classes.
We have rearranged slightly the schedule of our regular movement classes, added some and dropped some, so one might work better for your schedule now than in the past. We have some new educational programs coming up, with new speakers and new topics. We have incorporated new options for families and teens.
So, look again and look closely at this month’s CSC calendar, and see what programs and classes might be in store for you!
